Job Title: Human Resource Intern
Description: Applied Engineering, Inc. is seeking a temporary Human Resource Intern in Bismarck, ND. The HR Intern position will last approximately 3-5 months, but may have the potential to be extended schedule and duration to be determined based on factors such as the candidate s availability and the needs of the team. Applied can be flexible with scheduling. Under the guidance of the HR team, the HR Intern will assist with the implementation and management of various human resource programs and with the recruitment and hiring process. HR Intern Job Duties: Assists with the recruiting/hiring process for engineers, IT professionals, technical sales consultants, and other positions. This may include, but is not limited to: creating/modifying job descriptions, placing advertisements, processing and screening applications/resumes, updating the candidate database, communication with job candidates, conducting pre-screen interviews, scheduling phone and in-person interviews, and communicating with Applied teams in regard to hiring needs, candidates, and new hires. Enhance business objectives through utilizing social media. Assist with various human resource programs and processes Assist with research, updates, and revisions for personnel policies, procedures, and forms. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications: Minimum two years coursework completed toward a Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or enrolled in a Master s level business degree program with an interest in pursuing a career in Recruiting or Human Resources. Prior knowledge of recruitment, employment laws, or principles and practices of human resources learned through coursework or through work experience is a plus. Experience utilizing social media in a business setting preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate information about the company, job opportunities, and benefits in a positive manner to candidates is required. Attention to detail, professional composure, strong organizational skills, and confidentiality required for this position. Computer literacy including e-mail, Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
