Job Title: Transmission Economic Strategist

General Summary We are currently looking for a Transmission Economic Strategist who will independently provide business development support to the transmission division by conducting market research to identify transmission industry market drivers and changing market dynamics, resulting in the creation of complex financial and project/venture assessment models. This person will also be responsible for preparing the division s annual inter-utility budget, MISO transmission rates and financial analysis, including root cause analysis of the drivers of financial variances. Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing complex economic analysis and analytical reviews on various transmission financial issues that may have a major financial impact to GRE. Producing forecasts of transmission service costs and revenues for the division s annual inter-utility budget. Leading and executing market research, financial analysis, deterministic modeling, presentation development, business plan preparation and development of complex business assessment models. Knowledge typically acquired through a four-year degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, decision sciences or engineering and 5+ years of experience performing economic and/or financial analysis, including modeling, to recommend sound business decisions/prescriptive analytical solutions. An MBA or graduate degree in one of the above disciplines is preferred. 5+ years of experience in the utilities/energy industry or comparable context is required. Excellent business acumen, research, analytical, organizational, and communications skills are required. Transmission specific knowledge preferred.
