Job Title: Controller
Description: Provides strategic direction, leadership and supervision to the accounting department. Responsible for management of the organization's accounting functions, encompassing internal and external financial reporting, budgeting, general ledger, accounts payable and property accounting. Responsible for employee development to create the talent and leadership skills necessary for staff to take on roles of increased responsibility. Oversee the design and operation of the system of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures, and ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensure complete and timely reporting including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and 11-K Communicate financial results including the development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise, and clearly communicate, operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization Requires effective interpersonal and communication skills to communicate clear and concise information throughout the organization, including senior management, the Board of Directors, and other external stakeholders. REQUIRED EDCATION Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or equivalent. Advanced degree or certification preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) designation required. RQUIRED EXPERIENCE Over 15 years of directly related work experience including advanced leadership and strategic planning.
