Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Management Coordinator provides leadership for the development of the Lab's Quality Management Plan works closely and in conjunction with Department Supervisors to ensure clear communications related to Quality issues maintains working knowledge of current regulations and standards of all agencies applicable to laboratory, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood bank establishes, coordinates, implements, and maintains processes and tools to effectively meet applicable regulatory requirements oversees and coordinates the performance of internal audits throughout the department makes decisions and recommendations to address identified regulatory compliance concerns and opportunities demonstrates proficiency with software programs oversees and maintains the quality assurance and safety manuals, data bases, testing programs, records and other related information assists with hosting/coordinating/data collection and general preparation for all inspections develops, conducts and documents the training and competency of department staff participates in committees, workgroups and meetings, as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 1.Licenses and Certifications Required MT or MLT ASCP or equivalent ND MT or MLT license (or Provisional Permit) required 2.Educational Requirements BS in Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology (MT), AS in Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) 3.Experience Requirements Either 1 year high complexity testing as a MT or 2 years high complexity testing as a MLT Ability to develop, monitor, and revise project timetables to meet guidelines Proficient with databases, on-line training tools, and Microsoft Office software program (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) Thorough knowledge and skill to analyze facts, identify problems, make conclusions, and prepare recommendations or take appropriate action related to quality management and improvement criteria of complex programs Must be able to effectively communicate and function in varied clinical settings, interacting with managers, sub-contractors, and administrators Skill in collecting information from various types of research materials Ability to develop and implement program outcomes and quality management monitoring instruments, and provide training to staff Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing skill in utilizing word-processing and spreadsheet software ability to organize and report information Ability to understand, apply, and communicate rules, regulations and guidelines mandated by state and federal funding sources Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, service providers, outside organizations, professionals and community groups, and the general public, as needed. 4.Special Skills or Training Requirements
