Job Title:  Director of Human Resources

Description:  SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading all aspects of the Human Resources function within Fargo Public Schools to include recruitment, retention, conduct employment related investigations, performance management, compensation, benefit administration, employee relations, legal compliance, and policy development. The Director will be a strategic partner as a member of the Superintendent s cabinet, with a direct reporting line to the Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree in Human Resources or related field. Master s degree preferred. Seven years of experience in the Human Resource profession. Three or more years of successful experience in Human Resources administration to include supervisory and leadership roles. Human Resources experience in an education setting preferred. PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred. Experience working with HRIS computer applications Legal background preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and state reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Conducts and/or coordinates employment related investigations. Plans and directs a program for recruitment, selection and orientation of the best-qualified personnel. Serves as an administrative information officer for all employee benefit plans including insurance and retirement plans. Certifies classification and salaries to the business department. Authorizes to the payroll department, all initial, adjusted and terminated salaries, wages and benefits. Participates with the administrative team to administer salary and wage contracts
