Job Title: Certified Athletic Trainer
Description: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS NATA certification Current ND Athletic Training licensure CPR certification required within 30 days of hire - must have prior to seeing patients Valid driver's license Organize time well to meet job expectations and performance standards. Establish good rapport with other healthcare workers. Be adaptive to changing work situations. Communicate orally with all customers. Be flexible to changing work environment and to function well under pressure. Teach one-on-one to large groups of people. Should be able to address the needs of athletes of all ages by assessment, treatment or referral to the medical personnel competent in their care. Be proficient in computer skills including word and excel and can utilize the internet without difficulty The athletic trainer provides sports medicine services to athletes involved in competition at contracted events including practices and games, matches, or meets in the Williston Basin.Work with physicians and other medical providers to prevent, evaluate, manage, and care for many different types of injuries.Be an advocate for the athletic with great communication with physicians and other medical providers that are involved in the athletes care. The athletic trainer will also participate in rehabilitation education programs for the community through Live in Motion. The athletic trainer will also take on a role as a physical therapy technician when athletic training skills are not needed. Physical therapy technicians are responsible for assisting physical therapists with non-clinical tasks while caring for individuals. Physical therapy techs may help patients move, keep treatment areas organized and clean, assist patients with light exercises and record progress for therapists. They may also order and arrange supplies as well as change patient linens and pillows and other cleaning duties as needed. Help patient with scheduling needs.
