Job Title:  Health Information Network (HIN) Specialist - Temp/Full Time

Description:  Summary of Work ITD is seeking an experienced Health Information Network Specialist for a long-term temporary position. The ideal candidate will assist with the operation of the North Dakota Health Information Network (NDHIN) The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on partnering and assisting colleagues. Successful candidate must possess critical thinking/analytical skills, attention to detail, maintain a positive attitude and be willing to take on additional tasks as assigned while maintaining a high-level of professionalism and privacy. DUTIES & TASKS: Assist with the operation of the NDHIN and customer-relationship management (CRM) functions. Review reports or tasks in the MPI system to identify potential duplicates, overlays and linkages. Review and analyze appropriate clinical and demographic information and make appropriate corrections to preserve the integrity of the MPI and the legal medical record. Assist with system reviews to identify errors, fraud, or similar problems needing attention to ensure compliance with rules and regulations and maintaining system integrity. Assist in maintaining patient consent and accounting of disclosures. Assist in Stakeholder onboarding and user authentications in the NDHIN. Develop and maintain good working relationships with NDHIN stakeholders and assure that service levels meet stakeholder s expectations. Provide day to day phone and e-mail support regarding NDHIN issues resolve issues according to organizational guidelines work with vendor and stakeholders to provide technical advice and resolve problems and work closely with the NDHIN team regarding issues affecting stakeholders. Assist with key performance indicator (KPI) reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Assist with communication and marketing efforts write, edit and design internal/external communications create and/or edit images, charts, and graphics, and coordinate webpage(s). Maintain proficiency with NDHIN applications assist with researching and conducting testing with the NDHIN. Coordinate schedules, set up meetings, participate and take minutes in vendor and NDHIN meetings/user groups and other duties as assigned. Work hours: Full time hours Monday through Friday. Duration of position is expected to be through September 2021. Occasional in-state travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications Requires an associate degree in healthcare, business administration, computer information systems or a closely related field and two years of current & progressive professional level work experience directly related to healthcare or health information technology. A healthcare certification may substitute the education requirement. Preference given to applicants with experience working: in a healthcare environment with electronic health record systems with medical information systems, medical records, or knowledge of medical terminologies with and knowledge of the health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA) with a Master Patient Index (MPI)s
