Job Title:  Special Education Teacher- Great Divide Education Services

Description:  Travel and work in beautiful Southwest Montana. Great Divide Education Services is a full-service special education cooperative with offices in Deer Lodge, Montana, and Dillon, Montana. We are seeking a special education teacher for the remaining school year, 2018-19 and for the 2019-2020 school year. We are willing to consider teachers who may want to participate in the OPI Special Education Teacher Endorsement Project as well as fully certified special education teachers. Our cooperative offers a competitive salary & benefits package. Special education teachers have use of a cooperative vehicle. All vehicle costs (fuel, maintenance, and insurance) are paid by the cooperative. This position is itinerant, serving a variety of rural public schools in our service area. Special education teachers provide appropriate special education services to eligible preschool through eighth grade students. Knowledge of Montana's special education processes, guidelines, eligibility criteria, standardized assessment, and the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans preferable. Responsibilities include screenings, interventions, special education assessments, related paperwork requirements, scheduling of Evaluation Report (ER) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, provision of IEP services, an collaboration and consultations with teachers, colleagues, and parents. A collaborative, cooperative, team approach and attitude is essential. We have one position based out of our Deer Lodge office providing services to surrounding rural schools. The special education teacher would travel to several elementary schools the caseloads are relatively small (10 to 12 or less) in 4 to 5 different schools. Salary and benefits are based on education and experience per Cooperative policy and negotiated agreement.
