Job Title:  Street & Fleet Operations Manager

Description:  Street & Fleet Operations Manager The City of Dickinson is seeking an innovative leader to manage its Street & Fleet Departments. This individual will use their education and/or background in Construction, Engineering, and/or Business Management to plan, direct, and manage City street construction, repair, and maintenance projects. Coordination of the City's snow removal plan and Fleet maintenance are also high priorities. The Street & Fleet Operations Manager will assign work and provide direction to staff while working closely with other department managers in Public Works to coordinate projects and ensure performance standards are met or exceeded. This is an especially important aspect of the job superior customer service skills are needed to ensure all complaints related to street operations are handled appropriately. A strong foundational knowledge of engineering methods, practices, and costs is extremely beneficial in effectively preparing and completing capital improvement projects that relate to street maintenance, repair, and construction. The successful candidate will report to the Public Works Director and play an integral role in the development of department budgets and bid proposals relating to tools, materials, and equipment. Strong computer skills are critical to the management of the City's vehicles and equipment. The applicant sought by the City of Dickinson is a self-starter that has the ability to communicate effectively with staff. Human resource functions, such as recommendations for hiring and disciplinary action, are a part of this position.
