Job Title: Associate Director of Board Development
Description: Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA) Join MSBA s Team, Where School Boards Learn to Lead. MSBA is a private, nonprofit organization who is a leading advocate for public education and is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and strengthening the work of public school boards. MSBA is seeking an individual to join the Board Development Team. Responsibilities Assist with creating and implementing activities designed to develop and strengthen board members overall effectiveness in school board responsibilities. Assist with creating written materials and other training resources and tools to enhance board development, governance, and leadership through conferences, seminars, regional workshops, and in-district workshops. Assist with developing online workshops/webinars. Assist with planning and coordinating conferences, seminars, and regional workshops. Present at conferences, seminars, regional workshops, and in-district workshops. Provide assistance to members in the areas of board governance and leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to facilitate group processes in planning and decision making. Demonstrated project management and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willing to travel and work selected evenings/weekends. Experience as a school board member is desirable. Experience in, or knowledge of, Minnesota public education is desirable. Knowledge of adult education techniques and/or experience with adult learners is desirable.
