Job Title:  Corrosion Technician I, II or Sr

Description:  Corrosion Technician I/II: Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Perform a variety of technical duties in the area of Cathodic Protection (CP) and if applicable offer support to staff engineers/supervisors. Performs CP testing, design and Pipeline Integrity related assessments. Performs field operations and maintenance of cathodic protection and corrosion control systems. Sr Corrosion Technician: Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Perform a variety of technical duties in the area of Cathodic Protection (CP) and if applicable offer support to staff engineers/supervisors. Provide expertise in CP testing, maintenance, design services, and Pipeline Integrity related data analysis. Oversee and perform advanced Cathodic Protection (CP) assigned projects utilizing employees and/or contractor work forces. Minimum Qualifications: Corrosion Technician I: High school diploma/GED and one year of CP experience or two-year technical degree or two years of post-high school training from an approved math or science/technical trade school. Corrosion Technician II: NACE CP level 1 or NACE Corrosion Technician certification and two years corrosion mitigation experience. Sr Corrosion Technician: Must possess a working knowledge of technical procedures at a level normally acquired through the completion of a two-year degree with a strong technical emphasis or equivalent technical experience. NACE CP level 2 or NACE Corrosion Technologist certification. Four years corrosion mitigation related experience or cathodic protection survey experience. Key Skills & Competencies Corrosion Technician I: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Proficient in operation and use of personal computers and commercially available software. Strong organization skills with demonstrated proficiency in documentation. Must have the ability to effectively interact with others and work in a team environment. Ability to understand shunts and their use in rectifiers, bonds, and anodes reference cells, their maintenance, use, and precautions and polarity related to current flow and metal corrosion. Corrosion Technician II: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Proficient in operation and use of personal computers and commercially available soft Strong organization skills with demonstrated proficiency in documentation. Ability to lead projects and teams. Ability to effectively interact with others and work in a team environment. Ability to understand shunts and their use in rectifiers, bonds, and anodes reference cells, their maintenance, use, and precautions and polarity related to current flow and metal corrosion. Sr Corrosion Technician: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Proficient in operation and use of personal computers and commercially available software. Must have strong project management and organization skills with demonstrated proficiency in documentation. Must have the ability to effectively interact with others to secure cooperation and support Requires a self-motivated, innovative, resourceful individual with a results oriented approach to work. Additional Requirements Requires extensive travel (50% +). Required to maintain a valid driver s license. Preferred Qualifications Corrosion Technician I: NACE CP level 1 or NACE Corrosion Technician certification. Corrosion Technician II and Sr Corrosion Technician: Associate degree in technical related field.
