Job Title: Farm Accounting Payroll Processing Specialist
Description: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Accurate and timely processing of customer s payroll information. Calculate and print payroll checks and process direct deposit file uploads. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports. Confirm proper taxation of employer paid benefits. Process correct garnishment calculations. Calculate and make customer s federal and state payroll tax payments. Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports. Monitor and maintain payroll tracking system. Verify that all employer and employee information is correct and complete for W-2 and year-end payroll reports. Be knowledgeable and up to date with current payroll rules and regulations, in order to be a payroll resource for customers and other team members. Provide backup to other technicians. Accurate and timely input of customer s financial information, reconcile bank statements and verify account balances to produce monthly accounting statements on an association-wide basis. Set-up new accounts, depreciation schedules and update accounts to comply with department standards. Enter capital asset transactions and journal entries. Process 1099 s & W-2 s for all branch offices. Prepare data for electronic filings and keep tracking system up-to-date. Establish and maintain strong customer relations through consistent quality service. Work within a team environment to add value to external and internal customer service by being timely, thorough, and responsive to needs and expectations within assigned scope of responsibility. Take ownership of problems until resolved to the customer s satisfaction and know when to involve other resources. Enhance the image and reputation of AgCountry as a professional and premier provider of financial services. Develop and continually expand working knowledge of all available AgCountry farm accounting products, procedures and processes. Further develop knowledge and skills in the areas of payroll, accounting, and computer applications. Maintain technical competency in all phases of product processing. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Associate s degree or equivalent experience. Four to six years experience processing multi-state payroll. Working knowledge of payroll best practices. Strong knowledge of payroll federal and state rules and regulations. One to two years accounting experience. Strong attention to detail. Solid analytical, time management and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
