Job Title:  Wind Technician Intern

Description:  RESPONSIBILITIES: Under Supervision, has the responsibility for the performance, operations and maintenance of the Wind Turbines Monitors systems to ensure optimization of facilities Controls facility operations and ensures that dispatch requirements are met Perform system analysis, identifies and resolves problem to avoid failure modes Performs troubleshooting, preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance Additional duties include: base bolt tensioning, equipment operations, general labor, compound maintenance, and other duties that maybe required REQUIRED EDUCATION : The candidate must be currently enrolled at a North Dakota accredited institution and a resident of North Dakota Qualified Candidates must be currently enrolled in the first year of a two (2)-year Wind Technician or Power Plant Technology program completing year one in the spring of 2019 and enrolled for the second year in the fall of 2019 Equivalent programs that will be considered are: Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and/or Mechanical Maintenance SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must work safely indoors and outdoors They will experience extended periods in a standing position The candidate should be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with users of varying technical skill levels The candidate must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools: Outlook, Excel, and Word The ideal candidate is available full time during the summer months(June, July and August) These positions are paid Internships: $18.50 /hour Work hours are a rotating 10 hour shift Monday-Thursday/Tuesday-Friday (7:00 AM-5:30 PM CST) Work Location: 5198 30th St, New Salem, ND 58563 External applicants must apply online via www.allete.com/careers .
