Job Title:  Youth Development Center Mandan (Preschool) Site Director

The Youth Development Center Mandan Site Director will develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA childcare programs at our newest off-site childcare center located in the Family Wellness facility at 2700 46th Ave SE in Mandan. Helps to manage the daily activities of the Family Wellness Youth Development Center, including serving as a classroom Teacher, scheduling and supervising staff, developing and meeting center goals and objectives, and ensuring that the core values of the YMCA are modeled to all children, staff and parents. Ensures high quality preschool programs for 3-5 year olds at the Mandan Youth Development Center location by observing classroom activity, overseeing curriculum development, training staff, and managing budget outcomes. Oversees hiring, training, development, and scheduling of all Mandan YDC staff. Manages staff employee relations. Oversees staff coaching and performance evaluations. Facilitates strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Develops and implements weekly lesson plans for the assigned age group. Observes environmental standards, classroom schedule and management as well as facilitation of these standards in the classroom. Provides care for children in accordance with the YMCA Mission, YMCA Childcare Handbooks and all regulations of North Dakota State licensing. Uses appropriate, non-abusive discipline techniques. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Responds immediately and appropriately to unexpected situations and emergencies. Maintains all pertinent records regarding state licensing of the YDC. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program and state licensing standards are met and safety procedures followed. Maintains consistent procedures regarding YDC projections and child wait list. Works cooperatively as a team member with other supervisors and staff. Supports management decisions to staff, parents and the public. Full Time, Year-Round, Monday-Friday, 6:15 am to 3:15 pm We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field, such as Early Childhood Development, Elementary Education, or a CDA certification, or equivalent training required and fulfillment of state-specific license requirements. 3-5 years related experience in a licensed childcare facility or school preferred. Experience with administrative duties and supervising staff also preferred. CPR and First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire date required. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. The YMCA Youth Development Center is a high-quality, values-oriented, state-licensed childcare facility for children ages newborn to pre-kindergarten with a safe atmosphere and a caring staff. Youth Development Center Mandan is located at the Family Wellness facility at 2700 46th Ave SE in Mandan. It is the YMCA's newest preschool location.
