Job Title:  School Psychologist- Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative

Description:  The Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative (CMLRCC) is a special education cooperative serving 29 school districts across 6 counties in the geographic Center of Montana. Because most of the schools in the area are not large enough to hire speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists and in some cases, resource teachers, this staffing need is filled by a cooperative program. CMLRCC currently employs a staff of 6 speech-language pathologists, 4 school psychologists, 2 resource room teachers, 2 behavioral aides, an adapted physical education instructor, 2 occupational therapists, a business manager, an administrative assistant, and a director, for a total of 20 staff. Physical Therapy services and Orientation & Mobility services are provided on a contractual basis. Entry level for an employee with 0 years of transferable experience is Step 3. The employee will remain at that step for 4 years. New employees will be offered up to 10 years of transferable experience with initial placement on the salary schedule at up to Step 10. Salary ranges from $38,000 for an MA with no experience at Step 3, to $68,215 for an MA + 30 semester credits and 17 years of experience. CMLRCC also offers an educational loan repayment stipend for new employees who qualify. Health insurance, including dental insurance, is provided for staff with CMLRCC paying the cost of a single policy rate and 50% of the employee s dependent insurance premiums, based on the FTE (Full Time Equivalency) of the employee. A vehicle will be provided for business travel. All numbers are based on the 2016-2019 collective bargaining agreement and may change when the 2019-20 agreement has been approved. ITINERANT SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST Full-time position beginning 2019-2020 school year. Must have a Masters Degree from an accredited college or university and valid Montana Educator licensure with an endorsement as a school psychologist (Class 6, Level 3 Specialist Certificate). Strong pre-referral, RtI, and/or behavioral support experience preferred. The successful candidate must consent to and pass a fingerprint criminal background check. Position requires travel. Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative (CMLRCC) is a special education cooperative serving six Central Montana counties. The offices are located in Lewistown, Montana, and provide Speech-Language, School Psychology, OT, PT, and instructional services to school districts in 20 communities. SUMMARY:The psychologist will provide psychological services for the identification and remediation of students within the Central Montana Learning Resource Center Cooperative (CMLRCC) area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned Provide pre-referral consultation and intervention as appropriate. Appropriately evaluate referred students. Assist in the identification of students with disabilities in accordance with the current Montana rules and regulations. Write comprehensive psychological reports on appropriately referred and evaluated students and present reports at scheduled evaluation team meetings. Assist the evaluation team in determining least restrictive educational setting. Write counseling/behavioral goals for individualized education programs. Provide counseling for students with disabilities. Assist teachers with record keeping and program evaluation. Consult with and train persons directly involved with student s behavioral needs. Check with administrators when in their buildings. Plan office work schedule to allow sufficient time for planning, report writing and record completion. Initiate student referrals to other professionals as necessary. Develop and maintain a library of evaluation materials. Submit recommendations to the CMLRCC director for the purchase of appropriate evaluation and programming materials. * Exhibits acceptable work habits and performs tasks in a professional manner: Is regular in attendance and punctual for work. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Class 6, Level 3 Specialist Certificate Experience as a School Psychologist and/or Counselor. Experience with pre-referral and RtI preferred. Experience in developing functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral interventions. Experience in professional development/staff training. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public both in writing and orally. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: The work environment has increasingly become technology driven. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
