Job Title:  CAD Technician

As a CAD Technician, you will design and draft detailed construction drawings, topographical and existing features drawings, as well as related maps used in planning and construction of civil engineering projects. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist project managers with preparation of civil engineering design plans and surveys. Generate draft sketches, drawings, and other engineering data received from project managers. Make redline revisions as requested by project managers to create final engineering plans and/or surveys. Occasionally work outdoors as a construction observer or survey crew member. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS AAS in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent. Two years of work experience preferred. Valid driver s License and in good driving record. An understanding of typical engineering practices for civil engineering projects. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D including and understanding of features and concepts with the ability to create grading plans, conduct earthwork computations, develop alignments & profiles and generate plan sheets. Familiarity with project specifications including previous experience interpreting and/or preparing construction documents. Strong communication skills to support working independently or as part of a project team. Acute attention to detail with ability to recognize engineering plan discrepancies. Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible, dedicated, and self-motivated. Ability to manage time and multi-task on multiple priorities. Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines. Understanding of basic survey concepts with prior field survey experience preferred.
