POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools. Demonstrates the ability to speak, write and present clearly. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Identifies tasks or outputs that require accuracy and detail-level attention. DEPARTMENT DETAILS Sanford Health Internship Program aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. An Accounting Intern will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first-hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Provide professional accounting expertise by integrating Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal regulatory guidelines, and organizational objectives into the organization s Accounting function. Intern is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and maintaining the general ledger system for entities within his or her accountability. Intern will have primary focus on assisting the systems and corporate team with chart of accounts maintenance projects, month-end system close responsibilities, and ad-hoc projects relating to financial reporting or audit. Assist systems and corporate accounting team with ongoing special projects. Ensure all AU owners are utilizing the chart of accounts within the standard. Shadow mentor in day to day tasks and accompany mentor in social committee responsibilities. Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors. This is a 12 week internship. QUALIFICATIONS Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
