Job Title: Dietitian
Description: Plans, develops, and provides diet interventions, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition care and preventive counseling to individuals and groups in all areas of primary and specialty patient care, acute care, skilled nursing, and/or out-patient settings. Working on nutrition care protocols for the assigned patient area and acts as leader for the health care team in the implementation of the nutrition therapies. Providing dietary services and monitoring nutritional care of patients of all ages including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Incorporating new trends and techniques as necessary to design patient care plan and update standards of care policy manuals and educational material. Educating on diet according to disease state, medical condition and health risk. Currently holds Registered Dietitian (RD) license within the applicable state(s). Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required, or must be registry eligible and obtained within six months of hire within the job. Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of hire. Minimum of a Bachelors degree in dietetics or food and nutrition through an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited program. Clinical nutrition experience through an approved coordinated undergraduate program or successful completion of post graduate internship required.
