Job Title:  Server/Bartender

Description:  JOB SUMMARY Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all our guests. Each server s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time they will want to return again and again. Must be 21 to serve alcohol. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and know that you are there to personally take care of them. Inform guests of specials and menu changes. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. Up-sell food & beverage specials using suggestive selling techniques. Answer questions regarding how food is prepared. Describe in detail tastes and textures. Answer questions regarding wine list, and beverage selection. Be prepared to make suggestions for beverages that will pair well with food items being served. Answer questions about our food, beverages and general hotel questions. Have working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available in the bar. Prepare and serve beverages while maintaining safe and appropriate lounge environment. Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. This is a condition of employment and failure to follow is suspect to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Enforce state and local laws and regulations including health code in relation to alcohol and food service. Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in point-of-sale system, deliver food and beverages in an efficient and timely manner and present accurate check to guests. Perform side work at the start, during and end of each shift as required. Maintain clean service areas. Stock bar area. Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests. Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable). Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise. Be ready and willing to assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables. Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
