Job Title: Fall Intern - Culinary Arts

Work collaboratively with organization leadership, enhancing knowledge and skills and improving the delivery of quality healthcare. Assist in the completion of projects and administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned function and/or location. Attend training and development opportunities, learning about various processes and functions within the organization. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools. Demonstrates the ability to speak, write and present clearly. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Identifies tasks or outputs that require accuracy and detail-level attention. DEPARTMENT DETAILS Sanford Health Internship Program aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. A Culinary Arts Food Services/Cook Intern will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first-hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Intern will be exposed to all facets of food production to include restaurant style line cooking, quantity cooking, cold production, catering and central kitchen processes. Intern will prepare, cook, season and portion food for patients, staff, and visitors of the designated facility. Preparing and serving food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers and ovens. Adhering to food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation. Performing washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas. Maintaining labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery. Must currently be enrolled in a culinary program and/or recent graduation of a culinary program. This is a 12 week internship with 32-64 hours per pay period. QUALIFICATIONS Current enrollment or recent graduate of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
