Consider joining our team with the following opportunity: CAD Designer Maple Grove, MN Responsibilities: Assist project managers with preparation of civil engineering design plans and surveys. Generate draft sketches, drawings, and other engineering data received from project managers via verbal or written descriptions. Compile project documentation, prepare record drawings, draft detailed dimensional drawings for civil engineering projects, and review project plans and specifications for constructability. Make redline revisions as requested by project managers to create final engineering plans and/or surveys. Draft detailed dimensional drawings for civil engineering projects. Occasionally work outdoors as a survey crew member. Requirements: AAS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Land Surveying or related field with 7 to 10 years of related experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D features and concepts with the ability to create grading plans, conduct earthwork computations, develop alignments & profiles and generate plan sheets. An understanding of typical engineering practices for civil engineering projects. Understanding of basic survey concepts. Familiarity with project specifications including previous experience interpreting and/or preparing construction documents. Experience with Trimble office software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Written and oral communication skills sufficient to support working independently or as part of a project team. Detail oriented and organized, with above average math skills as they relate to engineering applications. Acute attention to detail with ability to recognize engineering plan discrepancies. Ability to work as part of a team or independently as required. Ability to interpret project documents including maps, reports, construction plans, and specifications. Safety-conscious, willing and able to follow all HEI safety policies. Valid driver's license and good driving record.
