Job Title: Field Organizer Intern
Description: Field Organizer Intern for North Dakota Anti-Corruption Amendment Campaign/Yes on Measure One North Dakotans for Public Integrity (NDPI) is seeking Full-time and Part-time FIELD ORGANIZER INTERNS to join the 2018 campaign supporting the North Dakota Anti-Corruption Amendment/Measure One in the Fargo and Bismarck metro areas. FIELD ORGANIZER INTERNS report directly to Statewide Field Director and Regional Field Director. What You Will Learn: How successful local and regional events are planned and implemented, with your contribution to the planning and executing team How voters are influenced by compelling contact through phone bank and door-to-door canvassing How local efforts contribute to the visibility of a measure and statewide field plan How to apply workplace (soft) skills and the technical knowledge of your major/minor, resulting in an accountable, productive and robust environment How to enter and retrieve data via integrated software to verify engagement, funding and compliance How to maximize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to maximize voter turnout How to apply your organizational and leadership skills to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines, often working evenings and weekends through the election on November 6. What We Are Seeking: Available to work 10-12+ hours per week or a total of 180-200+ hours through November 15, 2018. Possibility of continuing or renewing internship for optional additional credit during 2019 Legislative Session (January to May 2019) Post-secondary major in communication, political-science, marketing or any related discipline Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including calm under pressure Team player, but self-directed able to work largely independently General office, phone, and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) people-oriented communication Previous campaign, recruiting, phone banking, and/or volunteer experience Interest in policy reform and community development, social equity and making a difference Valid driver s license and reliable access to an insured vehicle or alternate mode of transportation This position is unpaid/volunteer and available immediately. Possible arrangements for working remotely may be considered, but preference is for intern living in or near the location where work and events are held. We offer free and safe parking, and when on field work, will reimburse expenses that may be incurred. We will work with your academic coordinators, if desired, to arrange for your academic credit, including assistance with learning agreement goals and outcomes, direct supervision and evaluation.
